Celebrating Effort: Introducing Our New Year 11 Rewards Program

LAHC Letter Image

Dear Year 11 Parents and Guardians,

As we move through this critical stage of the academic year, your child’s commitment to their studies and preparation for their final exams remains our highest priority. We continue to be incredibly proud of the resilience and hard work demonstrated by our Year 11 students.

We recognise that after-school intervention sessions are a significant commitment, and they represent a crucial opportunity for students to secure vital knowledge and skills before the summer exams next May. To celebrate and positively reinforce their dedication and engagement, we are thrilled to announce a brand-new Intervention Rewards Programme focused on attendance and active participation during interventions.

This program is designed to make these essential sessions engaging and motivating, directly linking commitment with tangible rewards.

How the New Rewards Program Works

The rewards program has two exciting tiers, offering multiple chances for students to win:

Tier 1: Attendance & Participation Prize Draw (£10 Vouchers)

For every single after-school intervention session your child attends and actively takes part in, they will receive one raffle ticket.

  • The more sessions a student attends, the greater their chance of winning!
  • The Prize: Winners will receive a £10 gift voucher for either Just Eat or Amazon, allowing the students to choose a reward they truly value.

Tier 2: High Standard Participation Prize Draw (£20 Vouchers)

During each session, the subject teacher will select one student who has demonstrated the highest standard of active participation—asking thoughtful questions, contributing excellent answers, or showing outstanding focus.

  • These highly engaged students will enter an additional, exclusive prize draw.
  • The Prize: Winners of this premium draw will receive a £20 gift voucher for Just Eat or Amazon.

Key Dates

Our first prize draw will take place on the Wednesday immediately following the Year 11 mock exams followed by a second prize draw on the final Wednesday of the module. We believe this provides a great incentive to drive attendance and effort during this intense preparation period.

Our Partnership for Success

The support you provide at home is invaluable. We kindly ask for your help in encouraging your child to:

  1. Prioritize Intervention: Please encourage them to attend every scheduled intervention session.
  2. Participate Actively: Remind them that simply being present is not enough; true learning happens when they engage fully with the material and the teacher. The better they participate, the higher their chances of winning the Tier 2 prize!

These sessions are the key to closing knowledge gaps and building confidence. We firmly believe this new program will provide the extra motivation needed for our students to achieve their very best outcomes.

We will contact parents and guardians weekly to remind them of the intervention schedule (this is at the bottom of this letter) to help you support your child’s attendance to interventions.

If you have any questions about the intervention schedule or the new rewards programme, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s College.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support as we guide our Year 11 students toward success.

Best wishes,

Mr Harris | Vice Principal
