Since joining Leigh Academies Trust (LAT) in April 2024, we at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie (LAHC) have made remarkable progress. Even before officially becoming part of the Trust, we were working closely with LAT to drive rapid improvement across all areas of our academy.
LAT’s rigorous review process, which includes internal assessments based on Ofsted standards and external validations, has played a key role in our transformation. Following recent Trust reviews, we are proud to share that LAT is confident we would now be rated as “Good” in all areas if inspected by Ofsted today.
According to the Fairer Schools Index (2025), LAHC is the most improved non-selective secondary school in the area.
This success is reflected in our outstanding Summer 2024 GCSE and Post-16 results, which were significantly higher than the average for non-selective schools across Kent and Medway, including several local schools in the Tonbridge area.
