Year 11 Visit to St. Hugh’s College, Oxford University – Friday 21st March 2025
We are pleased to offer your child the opportunity to visit St Hugh’s College, Oxford University, on Friday 21st March. This visit is designed to provide students with an insight into university life as they prepare for their post-16 choices.
Schedule for the Day:
- 08:30 – Depart from Leigh Academy Hugh Christie
- 10:30 – Arrival and refreshments at St Hugh’s College
- 11:00-12:00 – Talk with Outreach staff about university life and applications
- 12:00-13:00 – Q&A and college tour with current student ambassadors
- 13:00-13:30 – Lunch (Students will need to bring their own packed lunch, food may also be available to purchase. If your child receives free school meals, this will still be available to them.)
- 13:30-14:45 – Afternoon activity led by the college
- 16:30-16:50 – Return to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie (parents/carers must arrange transport home). We will update parents of our estimated arrival time if traffic delays our return.
Students must wear full academy uniform and bring their chromebook to take notes. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain first-hand experience of a university setting and to ask any questions about higher education. There are limited places available, so we encourage students to return the attached permission slip as soon as possible. We look forward to an inspiring and informative visit!
