Year 5 Experience Events
Our Year 5 Experience Events are designed to give prospective students a first glimpse into life at our school. These exciting, hands-on sessions provide pupils with the opportunity to explore key areas of the curriculum through fun, interactive lessons, meet some of our inspiring teachers, and get a feel for our school community.
Students will take part in a range of engaging activities, experience our facilities, and begin to familiarise themselves with the environment ahead of their Year 6 transition. It’s a fantastic chance to build confidence, spark curiosity, and make their first step into secondary school a positive and memorable one.
Each student can book a maximum of one session per day. You will need to book one event at a time.
Year 6 Transition Events
Please find below the key transition dates to support your child’s move to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie:
Please ensure your child brings a packed lunch, water bottle, and wears their primary school uniform on transition days.

✅ Transition Day 1 – All Primary Schools

🕗 8:45am – 2:30pm
A full induction day for new Year 7 students.
✅ SEN Transition Day
📅 Wednesday 18th June 2025
🕗 8:45am – 3:00pm
This day is specifically for students with SEND and includes meetings with the SENCO,
📌 SEN Meetings Only
🕐 1:30pm – 3:00pm
Meetings are bookable on the school website, Parents may take their child home after their scheduled meeting if it finishes earlier.
✅ Transition Day 1 – Edenbridge Primary School Only
📅 Thursday 26th June 2025
🕗 8:45am – 2:30pm
For Edenbridge Primary pupils or those unable to attend on 12th June.
✅ Transition Day 2 – All Primary Schools
📅 Thursday 10th July 2025
🕗 8:45am – 2:30pm
Final transition day before the summer break.
