Students and staff at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie are today celebrating one of the best ever sets of GCSE results in the school’s history, marking an improvement on last year’s outcomes and demonstrating the strength and commitment of our learning community.
More than 230 grades were awarded at Grade 6, 7, 8 and 9, showcasing the exceptional achievements of our students across a wide range of subjects. These outstanding results are a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families.
Nearly 60% of students achieved Grade 4 or better in both maths and English, a crucial benchmark that opens doors for further study and employment opportunities. Many of our students will now progress confidently onto A levels, BTEC Level 3 programmes, or other post-16 pathways – fully prepared for the next stage of their education.
A growing number of students are successfully following the EBacc pathway, with continued year-on-year improvement in both access and attainment. This trend highlights the academy’s sustained focus on providing a broad and ambitious curriculum for all learners.
