A very warm welcome to Leigh Academy Hugh Christie. Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is a co-educational school, based in Tonbridge. The school is housed in a state-of-the art building on an attractive campus with excellent facilities.

It is our mission that every child at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is happy, successful and well-prepared for adult life.

We deliver this by having a dedicated staff body, a broad and balanced curriculum with high standards of discipline, creating a disruption free learning environment. Students’ wellbeing is of equal importance alongside their academic progress and we offer outstanding support.

Our Small Schools

The whole of Leigh Academy Hugh Christie is divided between three separate colleges.  

  • Coe College
  • Attenborough College
  • Angalou College

This takes a human-scale approach which ensures that the quality of care, guidance and support for every child is as effective as possible.

It is crucial for any student to have the sense of being known and understood.  This can be lost amongst large schools. The small-school approach at our Academy ensures that this is never the case.  We have teams of dedicated teachers, leadership, and support staff that just concentrate on their college, allowing each college to give more time, care and guidance for their students.

The academy is equipped with many state-of-the-art facilities for our students to utilise in their education journey

  • Chromebooks:  Every student is equipped with their own chromebook for all lessons and Academy life.  No student can be left behind, all students are able to access knowledge, understanding and support for all subjects on their chromebook 24/7. This is a very unique opportunity to use these Chromebooks, here at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie.
  • Modern Classrooms: Our classrooms are equipped with the latest technology to enhance learning.
  • Sports Facilities: We boast excellent sports facilities, including a gymnasium, plenty of sports areas, and courts.
  • Creative Spaces: Our facilities include well-equipped art studios, music rooms, design technology workshops, food room and a photography workshop.

Our intention is to provide a broad a balanced curriculum, delivered through a culture of high expectations, principled and caring relationships and consistent routines.  We use our expert subject knowledge to inspire and enthuse children, sparking curiosity and risk taking.​
