Sixth Form Dress Code
Sixth Form students act as role models to younger students at Leigh Academy Hugh Christie. As such, our expectations regarding dress and appearance is an important part of this. We expect all of our students to dress professionally and smartly for school.
All Sixth Form Students must follow our dress code expectations, detailed below:
Expected Uniform
- Smart collared shirt
- Smart, tailored trousers
- Suit with a tie (optional)
- Cardigan or jumper (optional)
- Smart shirt/blouse (covering the shoulder)
- Tailored long trousers or tailored skirt or dress (knee-length)
- Tailored jacket, cardigan or jumper (optional)
- Black, Brown or Navy formal leather shoes
- Sixth Form Student ID card and lanyard (mandatory)
Not Acceptable
- T-shirts
- Cargo/combat trousers
- Trousers with additional external pockets
- Sports wear
- Shorts or 3/4 length trousers
- Jeans, or denim of any type
- Leggings
- Hooded tops
- Sweatshirts
- No “beachwear” including flip-flops/sandals
- Any clothes with logos
- Tops that are unduly revealing
- Mini-skirts or mini dresses
- No boots or “Ugg” style boots
- Trainers and canvas shoes (including Vans/Converse)
