Dear Sixth Form students and parents,
Welcome to our latest Sixth Form Newsletter, designed to keep parents, carers, and families informed about the key events and opportunities shaping the final months of the academic year. As we approach a crucial period for our students, we want to ensure you have all the information needed to support them through their Year 13 final exams, Year 12 end-of-year mocks, and upcoming work experience placements for Year 12.
For our Year 13 students, the focus is now on preparing for their live exams, with tailored revision sessions, study resources, and wellbeing support in place to help them perform at their best. Meanwhile, Year 12 students will be sitting their end-of-year mocks, an essential step in assessing progress and identifying areas for development ahead of their final year.
Additionally, we are excited to see Year 12 students taking part in work experience—a fantastic opportunity for them to explore potential career paths, develop essential skills, and enhance their post-18 applications.
We appreciate your ongoing support during this important time and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or need further guidance.

Small School Model – Knowing Our Students Well
Last module we shared the news that Ms. Snook had joined the Sixth Form Team to support the growth of the sixth form provision for students, we are now in a position to update you that both Ms. Dolan and Mrs. Pike have finished their roles with us and are starting their new chapters, we thank them again for their hard work and commitment to our students.
Ms. Bain-Simmons now joins us in the team as our pastoral support and Student Support Manager having worked very successfully in the Angelou team within lower school. Ms. Bain-Simmons can be contacted directly at: [email protected].
Main Communication
In order to ensure we triage queries from families, can we ask that all Sixth Form related queries are now sent to our central email at: [email protected] so that as a team we can support you effectively, this includes any attendance emails or absence emails.
Attendance
We have been impressed with students taking responsibility for their attendance and communicating known absence with the team directly, thanks to families for confirming absences with us also and providing evidence where appropriate.
A reminder that if a teacher is absent, students must still come in and work in the directed space for that lesson. This will either be within their subject area or in the Sixth Form study area so students need to attend school as usual. If families are unsure of arrangements, please contact us directly via [email protected].
Live exams
With the live summer examinations starting in less than 3 weeks, we remind you that JCQ have provided Wednesday 25th June as the final contingency date for exams and all students need to be available until this date in the unlikely event an exam is rescheduled. This is largely for Year 13 students however we have some Year 12 students sitting live exams this summer also.
For Year 12 the mock exam period commences Monday 16th June – Friday 27th June and we will distribute more detailed mock timetables to students in this module.
Year 12 Work Experience
Students have had ongoing support through our advisory programme in the mornings to ensure they have knowledge of how to search and apply for work experience. Students have been asked to complete the below so we can contact placements regarding the required paperwork and support students still seeking work experience.
